Prescription Requests

With effect from 1st October 2017 patients will no longer be able to order prescriptions over the telephone.  The repeat slips received back from the chemist are to be handed in at Reception or posted to us.  Only in exceptional circumstances i.e. if you are housbound, will we take requests over the phone.  If you have difficulty accessing the surgery please either sign up for My Health Online, where you will be able to order your repeat prescriptions with us directly via the internet, or speak to your local pharmacy.

Out of Hours
Outside normal surgery hours, e.g. evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, medical care is provided by North Wales Out Of Hours Service (0300 123 5566), the recognised out-of-hours service commissioned by Betsi Cadwalader University Health Board

Home Visits
Our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit.  For this reason, we ask our patients who are mobile to come to the practice, if at all possible. Request for visits to housebound patients should be made before 11:00am.  Visits will be carried out at the discretion of the doctors.

Patient Registration
If you live in our practice area and would like to register with us, please either complete the on-line form attached or visit us at the surgery to complete a registration form that is available from reception. On the form, you will be able to say which practitioner you would prefer to see. However, you will be registering with the practice rather than an individual GP.

Repeat Prescriptions

medicine_bottleMany of you will be on some medication that must be taken regularly. You can order these by post (enclose an S.A.E), by fax on 01492 593068, or by visiting the surgery. Prescriptions can be collected from the surgery during weekday opening hours only.

Please do not telephone for repeat prescriptions as we do NOT accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.

For repeat prescriptions, please use the tear off slip indicating the exact medication required.

We have arrangements in place with the local pharmacies to have the prescriptions collected on your behalf from the surgery. These are then dispensed ready for your collection at the pharmacy. Some pharmacies are also able to offer a home delivery service. Please enquire at the relevant pharmacy.

We sometimes need to check that your medication is still needed. Should your prescription show a 'review date' on the bottom, it means you should make an appointment to see the doctor on or around this date.

We are usually able to process your repeat prescription requests within 48 hours, but giving us more notice of your requirements means that we can have the prescription ready on time.

My Health Online

My Health Online is an online service brought to you from NHS Wales.  It offers patients the convenience to order Repeat Prescriptions directly from the surgery using the internet.

If you are interested in registering for this service please ask for details at Reception.

Please be aware, to protect patient confidentiality, it is essential that you provide documents to make sure you are who you say you are, so you will be asked for identification - preferably photo ID e.g. driving licence/passport etc.
